Single Moms

Single moms…you got this!

‘Single’ mom can mean many different things depending on the situation, but the one commonality is how we all have the ability to not only survive but to thrive in that role. The brilliant notion of not only surviving, but thriving are words of wisdom I cannot take credit for personally.  I first heard these words from a Divorce Coach and then recently learned they originally came from Maya Angelou when describing her mission in life.  I challenge you all to meditate on these words and think long and hard about what they mean to you.  It’s such a simple statement, but believing it for yourself is probably just like much in life and sadly easier said than done.  If you are not yet in your thriving part of your divorce just yet, just trust that, in time, it will come. These are such beautiful words and should hopefully instill in you an immense sense of hope that they could one day be truth. Also, try hard not to be in such a rush to enter the thrive status. Try to enjoy just the pure and simple idea that you know it is coming.  For many of you, it may seem impossible, but I promise you it will happen – when the universe wishes it upon you – just try to believe and trust it so that you can enjoy the journey of hope it puts in place for us along the way.
