My first blog post…ever

Where do I start?  What do I write about?  I have always had a tendency to write way too much for any given assignment.  It was so much easier for me to get it all on paper and then later, figure out what to delete and weed out in order to cut the seventeen (thousand) pages from the final product in order to meet the appropriate assignment guidelines.  When my friends would tell me they were on font 14 with triple spacing and 2 inch margins, I sat in awe at how completely opposite from that I was.  With this in mind, I will limit my blogs to a non-boring length – I promise!

I think I will give simple, yet hard to implement words of wisdom here:  if you are not doing something simply because of the fear of the unknown or worse, the (incorrect) notion in your head that doing something different/new would be silly, careless, weird, or fill in the blank…then I challenge you to put everything down this second (or at some moment today) and take one tiny, small step towards that idea.  It can literally be sending an email, researching a website, making one phone call, writing about it in a journal, meditating on it for five minutes, or dare I say it: writing your first blog post…ever, but do it – that one small step.  Life is too short not to live out your passions – as ‘silly’ as you (or society made you) think.  If it doesn’t come to fruition or isn’t actually what you wanted, then okay, no big deal…but at least you tried.
